Former children's home boss guilty of 26 child abuse charges

Former children's homes boss John Allen has been found guilty of 26 charges of sexually abusing youngsters in Wrexham.

The 73-year-old of Needham Market, Suffolk, denied 40 counts of sexual abuse against 19 boys and one girl from the 1960s to the 1990s.

The former hotelier and pop band manager ran 11 homes in the Wrexham area known as the Bryn Alyn Community.

He was found not guilty of two charges, while the jury is still deliberating on a further 12 charges.
