Remembering Joanna Michael: Mother and best friend

The mother and best friend of a woman brutally murdered after a 999 delay have told their story.

Joanna Michael, 25, from St Mellons, Cardiff, rang 999 twice before her former boyfriend Cyron Williams stabbed her to death in 2009.

She suffered 22 stab wounds from a kitchen knife and a total of 74 injuries. Her two children were in the house at the time.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) ruled she was failed by both the South Wales and Gwent police forces.

Ms Michael's mother Angela, from Hengoed, and friend Laura Harding spoke to BBC Wales' Week In Week Out.
