Alex Pavlou: 'Lessons to be learnt' from River Tawe death

Parents of a Swansea teenager who drowned in the River Tawe while drunk have said he was handled "inadequately" by police and a lifebelt had been removed for "no good reason".

19-year-old Alex Pavlou drowned in May 2015 after being turned away from a nightclub because he was intoxicated.

An inquest in Swansea reached a narrative conclusion, but the lack of available lifebelts and the way the teenager was treated by a police officer were both criticised by the jury.

The family's solicitor said "lessons will be learnt" from Mr Pavlou's death.
