Mark Williams: Polls important step to rebuild Lib Dems

It will take time to restore Liberal Democrat fortunes after recent electoral disasters, the party's Welsh leader Mark Williams has said.

In Cardigan to launch his party's campaign for May's local elections, he said councils in Wales were rife with "complacency, arrogance and laziness", promising to bring "fresh talent, new ideas and passion" to authorities.

Mr Williams said he was not "delusional" about the timescale involved in reviving the Lib Dems, but he was sure they would get more councillors elected on 4 May.
