Universal credit: Minister sorry over benefits delay

UK Work and Pensions Minister Damian Hinds has said he is sorry about errors that have been made in rolling out the universal credit benefits system.

It merges six benefits into a single monthly payment but critics have complained people have had to wait six weeks for their first payment.

Mr Hinds told BBC Wales problems emerged in all benefit schemes and universal credit was improving on many of the features of the past.
