Two men arrested after shooting in Newport

Two men have been arrested following a shooting near a pub in Newport.

Pellets were shot from one car causing another vehicle to crash near the Cross Hands pub on Chepstow Road at about 23:30 BST on Tuesday.

One man suffered a head injury as a result of the pellets being fired, while another man had minor injuries from the crash.

Both were in the car that crashed along with a woman who hurt her back.

Gwent Police said none of the injuries were life-threatening and all three were taken to hospital but have since been released.

The two men were then arrested and are in custody.

The force appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and has any information to call 101.

Local resident Steve Bradley told BBC Wales what he saw.
