Smacking: Lashing out or teaching boundaries?

Smacking is no longer acceptable and children should have the same legal rights as adults, the Welsh Government has said.

It is looking at changing the law to remove the legal defence of "reasonable punishment" in cases where adults are charged with assaulting children.

But opponents argue it risks criminalising good parents who are just trying to discipline their children.
