Energy watchdog Ofgem failing consumers, say MPs

A group of MPs is calling on the big six energy companies to prove that they are not profiting excessively from rising gas and electricity bills.

In a report out this morning, members of the Energy and Climate Change Committee also criticise the regulator Ofgem.

They say it is failing consumers because it has not tackled the industry's lack of transparency.
