Jeremy Bowen: 'Tension in Damascus'

In Syria, President Bashar al-Assad has insisted that his country will defend itself in the face of what he called "any aggression".

In the capital, Damascus, there is deep unease among many residents about what the coming days will bring.

The BBC's Middle East Editor Jeremy Bowen is one of the few international journalists in Damascus, from where he sent this report.
