UN Global Goals: Pamela on life in Mexico

Schoolgirl Pamela Viviano, 11, is growing up in a makeshift house built out of plastic and wood on a traffic island on the outskirts of Mexico City.

Her parents scrape to make a living out of collecting discarded tortillas and selling them on for animal feed.

Pamela enjoys school and says she hopes by working hard that she will be able to achieve a better life for herself and her family when she grows up.
