Ivory Coast political deadlock causes shortages

Ivory Coast is beginning to see shortages of basic goods and rapidly increasing prices for other items, as the country suffers continued political deadlock.

The West African regional bloc Ecowas has urged incumbent President Laurent Gbagbo to "yield power without delay", saying it recognises opponent Alassane Dramane Ouattara as the winner of last month's presidential election.

But Mr Gbago has refused to step down, and both men have been sworn in and named cabinets, leaving the country with two rival governments.

Jack Izzard reports.
