Gaddafi's son tells journalists, "everything is calm"

Col Gaddafi's son spoke at a news conference late on Friday where he said Tripoli was "calm" and "peace is returning to the country".

Saif al-Islam also told invited members of the international media that the number of deaths had been exaggerated.

The UN estimates more than 1,000 people have died in the 10-day-old revolt.

The US has blocked transactions involving the assets of Col Gaddafi and some close associates.

The evacuation of thousands of foreign workers continues by air, by sea and overland, but some remain trapped.
