The rebuilding of Cuttington university

In 2003 Cuttington University was in ruins. It had re-opened the year before when the war looked to be over, but violence flared again and rebel soldiers ransacked and looted as they rampaged through.

One building has been left derelict on the campus, the words "psychology in action" stencilled on the side, a reminder of the long years of war in which the university lay empty except for a skeleton staff. Cuttington is the oldest private college in Sub-Saharan Africa and the largest employer in Bong County.

Cuttington University president Henrique Tokpa explains how the university was rebuilt.
