Taylor: 'Prosecution paid witnesses'

The former president of Liberia, Charles Taylor, who has been convicted of war crimes, has spoken in his own defence.

In a plea to an international court in The Hague, Mr Taylor said the witnesses against him were paid, coerced and threatened with prosecution if they did not cooperate.
