Nigeria violence: Army tells BBC it is ‘demoralised’
The Nigerian army has told the BBC it is demoralised, outnumbered and outgunned, following a series of attacks by Boko Haram which killed at least 150 people.
The Islamist group is accused of killing 27 people in attacks on two villages, Shawa and Alagarno, not far from where the schoolgirls were taken.
They are also blamed for a double bombing in the central city of Jos on Tuesday, in which 118 people died.
Gabriel Gatehouse reports.
