Former Japan PM Nato Kan at Fukishama Inquiry

The former Japanese Prime Minister, Naoto Kan, has been giving evidence before a parliamentary commission into the Fukushima disaster which began in March 2011.

Questions are expected to focus on Mr Kan's response in the hours and days after tsunami damage tipped three nuclear reactors into meltdowns.

The commission is due to deliver its report in June.

The BBC's Roland Buerk reports from Tokyo.
