Women constitute 95% of farmers in a Tajik town of Toos

Civil war in Tajikistan, after the collapse of the Soviet Union 20 years ago, led to forced migration and the destruction of the manufacturing sector.

Twenty years on and now in the southern town of Toos the majority of the population are women.

But most of them have lost their sons and male relatives.

Karen Zarindast reports.
