Japan: Voting begins to elect new leader

Voting is under way in Japan's general election, with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) predicted to win after three years in opposition.

If this is the case, party leader Shinzo Abe will be the country's seventh prime minister in six years.

He has promised a tougher foreign policy, which experts say could tensions with China over disputed islands in the East China Sea.

Mariko Oi reports from Tokyo.
