Spending Review previewed

Chancellor George Osborne is to set out where a further £11.5bn of government cuts will come from, when he lays out his Spending Review later.

Most Whitehall departments face budget reductions of 8% to 10% in 2015-16, but health and schools in England and the overseas aid budget are ring-fenced.

The Today programme's business presenter Simon Jack reports live from Newcastle where the review is taking place and looks the impact that expected local authority budget cuts will have on local people in the area.

The BBC's economics editor Stephanie Flanders and political editor Nick Robinson give their analysis on the spending cuts that are expected to be announced in the the review.
