Indian girl gives central bank money to help economy

Last year, when India was faced with a plunging rupee, a worried 10-year-old girl sent a $20 (£12) bill to the governor of the central bank hoping her gesture would help the economy recover.

Laila Alva was worried that "people won't have enough money to make a living and everyone will suffer and everyone will become poor," she says.

The governor, Raghuram Rajan, replied thanking her for her concern and returned her money - when she later visited Mumbai, Alva went to the bank where she met Rajan.

This is the letter she wrote.
