Patel protest leader: We will use violence 'if need be'

The leader of the Patel community protests in India's Gujarat says his group are prepared to use violence "if need be".

Hardik Patel led a huge rally in Ahmedabad, the capital of the Indian state.

Patel's make up 20% of the state's population and are among the most prosperous businessmen and farmers there.

They say the government's affirmative action policies, designed to help those in Gujarat from traditionally disadvantaged castes, are unfair.
