India election 2014: What will sway rural Indians' votes?
Millions of Indians are voting on the first big day of the country's general election, with 14 states going to the polls - including the country's most populous state, Uttar Pradesh.
More than 60% of the population live outside urban areas and the ruling Congress party has traditionally tried to reach out to them through welfare schemes.
Mishal Husain visited one rural village in Uttar Pradesh. to hear why that may no longer be enough.
