'Mad Monk' Abbott in Australian election surprise

Things are not going as planned for the governing Labour Party with just ten days to go before the Australian election.

Former Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd was replaced by his popular deputy, Julia Gillard, but it seems she too has been struggling in the polls.

Six months ago, nobody gave the opposition Liberal Party any chance of winning but its leader, Tony Abbott, has benefited from turmoil in the Labour ranks and it is producing an unexpectedly tight and entertaining election.
