Australia's PM Julia Gillard launches campaign

Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard has officially launched her election campaign in Brisbane, five days ahead of polling day.

She ousted her predecessor as Labour leader, the once hugely popular Kevin Rudd, back in June.

But the opposition Liberal Party has confounded the pundits with a strong showing.
