Polls close in Australia election

Voting has closed in Australia, in what is thought to be the tightest election in years.

Julia Gillard's governing Labour party hopes to win a second term, but her ousting of Kevin Rudd earlier this year, and a spirited campaign from Liberal leader Tony Abbott have shaken her support.

Phil Mercer reports from Sydney.
