Australia election: Independents seek budget clarity
Leaders of Australia's major political parties and three crucial independent members of parliament have held their first round of talks.
The three made several broad demands which included a call for a briefing by top treasury officials on budget finances.
The independents say economic issues will guide their thinking on who they support, warning that fresh elections will inevitably follow if a deal can not be struck.
