Christmas Island shipwreck survivors cling to wreckage

At least 28 refugees have died after a suspected people-smuggling boat heading for Australia smashed against rocks and sank in heavy seas off Christmas Island.

The island is on many migration routes and has the country's largest asylum detention centre.

The BBC's Nick Bryant said bad weather had caused the area's roughest seas for months.
