'Disaster zones' in Australia floods

Flooded communities across eastern Australia could be underwater for more than a week, with the clean-up bill expected to run into billions of dollars.

Days of torrential downpours have left parts of central and southern Queensland state inundated, forcing two towns to be entirely evacuated.

The rain eased on Thursday, but river levels kept rising in many parts as waters made their way toward the sea.
