Japan halts Antarctic whale hunt after chase by activists

Japan has suspended its annual whale hunt in the Antarctic, saying an American anti-whaling group has made the operation unsafe.

Activists from the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society have been pursuing the Japanese fleet's mother ship in a bid to disrupt the hunt.
