Immigration on French political agenda amid protests
In an attempt to find a unified way forward on asylum and illegal immigration informal talks between France's immigration minister, Eric Besson, and a gathering of international ministers are set to begin later in Paris.
The talks come after a weekend of protests in the French capital over the continuing expulsion of Roma from across France - a move opposed by some within President Sarkozy's government.
