Dump offer rejected by Naples mayors

The mayors of several towns around the city of Naples have rejected a move by the government to delay the opening of a new landfill site, after weeks of protests by local residents over pollution.

They say they want the idea abandoned altogether.

The dispute has left piles of garbage lying in the streets of the Naples.
