Queen in Ireland: 'Deep sympathy' for troubles victims

The Queen has offered her "deep sympathy" to those who have suffered in the troubled relationship between Britain and the Irish Republic.

In her only speech of the visit, at a state banquet in Dublin Castle, she spoke of the "heartache, turbulence and loss" experienced by both countries - in what has been seen as much closer to an expression of regret than many had expected.

Mark Simpson reports.
