Mladic arrest timing a coincidence - Baroness Ashton

Fugitive Bosnian Serb war crimes suspect Ratko Mladic has been arrested in Serbia after 16 years on the run.

Gen Mladic, 69, was found in a village in northern Serbia where he had been living under an assumed name.

Serbia had been under intense international pressure to arrest him, in order to promote its bid for EU membership.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Baroness Ashton, who is with a delegation in Belgrade, has said that the timing of the arrest is a "coincidence".
