Euro 2012: Donetsk's link to Wales

The city where England play their opening Euro 2012 game has a unique link to the UK.

The steel industry in Donetsk was forged by a Welshman called John Hughes in 1869, who brought with him dozens of countrymen and formed a community which remained until the Russian Revolution in 1917.
