Italy waits after parliament dissolved by president

Italy's President Giorgio Napolitano has dissolved parliament and called a general election for February.

The announcement follows Friday's resignation of the caretaker Prime Minister Mario Monti.

Mr Monti is expected to announce later on Sunday whether he plans to stand in what promises to be a bitter election campaign.

David Willey reports from Rome.
