Authorities under pressure over Irish child deaths

The Catholic Church in Ireland, has told an order of nuns, to co-operate with any inquiry into the deaths of nearly 800 children, whose bodies were found in a mass grave on their premises.

The children, buried in the grounds of a former home, for unmarried mothers, had died of illness or malnutrition between 1925 and 1961.

Authorities in Ireland are coming under increasing pressure to hold an inquiry into the deaths.
