Ukraine crisis: Fighting erupts near Donetsk

Fighting has erupted between government and rebel forces in eastern Ukraine, including the use of heavy weapons and tanks.

The army said it had used artillery after the rebels attacked with tanks, while the rebels accused the army of shelling them first.

The clashes are taking place in Maryinka and Krasnohorivka, outside the rebel-held city of Donetsk.

Despite a ceasefire in February - and an agreement to stop the use of heavy weapons - fighting has recently intensified.
