Migrant crisis: Rent subsidy plan for Athens' stranded migrants

A scheme to provide subsidised rent for 20,000 migrants "stranded in Athens" is expected to be launched on Monday.

The Greek government, the UN Refugee Agency and the European Commission are expected to sign the agreement in Athens, where up to 5,000 migrants are expected to arrive.

Authorities in Greece have been struggling to cope with growing numbers of migrants in the capital, as Balkan countries block their route further north.

Nick Thorpe reports.
