Fifa's independent audit committee chief resigns over reforms

The international football body Fifa has been hit by fresh turmoil after one of its leading anti-corruption officials resigned in protest at changes he says will undermine the governing body's independence.

Domenico Scala, Fifa's head of auditing and compliance, is angry the new council will have the ability to appoint and sack those in charge of its committees, including auditing, ethics and finance.
