Troops departure for WW1 re-enacted with donkey
When Guernsey's first dedicated military force left the island for the Western Front 100 years ago, Joey the donkey went with it.
The animal was the official regimental mascot of the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry (RGLI).
More than 40% of the 3,549 men of the RGLI were killed or wounded in World War One.
To mark their contribution, islanders recreated their departure from the island with a donkey.
