One dead in Brazil hotel shoot-out

Police have evacuated a luxury hotel in Rio De Janeiro after around 30 people were taken hostage inside, local media has reported.

Armed men stormed the Intercontinental Hotel in an attempt to escape after a shoot-out with police patrols on a nearby road.

A female bystander was killed and two police officers have been injured.

Police say they have arrested nine people.
