Trapped Chilean miners speak to rescuers for first time

Thirty-three miners in Chile, who have been trapped underground for nearly three weeks, have spoken to rescuers for the first time.

Using a telephone line they spoke to the Chilean Mining Minister Laurence Golborne to say they were generally in good health.

It has been decided not to tell the miners they could be trapped in the mine near Copiapo until Christmas.
