Pope Francis arrives in Cuba on historical visit

Pope Francis has arrived in Cuba on his first visit to the island.

He was greeted by President Raul Castro, in the capital, Havana.

The Pope will spend four days in Cuba before flying to the United States.

The first pontiff to hail from Latin America, Pope Francis has been recognised for helping to improve the diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States.
