Lufthansa cargo plane crashes at Riyadh airport

A cargo plane has crashed on arrival at the King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Saudi state TV has reported.

There have been no reports of casualties, the kingdom's civil aviation authority said.

The plane's two pilots were being treated in hospital, Lufthansa confirmed in a statement quoted by the Reuters news agency.

The German-owned plane was carrying freight from Frankfurt to Riyadh when it crashed at 11.38am local time. The cause of the incident is still unknown and under investigation.
