RAF helps Israeli emergency services tackle fire

More than 40 people are now known to have died in one of Israel's worst ever forest fires.

An RAF helicopter from Cyprus has been sent to assist in the operation to contain the flames which now threaten Israel's third biggest city, Haifa.

Fifteen thousand people have been moved from their homes.

An Israeli police spokesman, Micky Rosenfield, told the BBC the high winds were not helping.
