Middle East lashed by stormy weather

Heavy rains and strong winds have been causing widespread disruption in some Middle Eastern countries, including Egypt, Israel and Lebanon.

The storms have sunk a ship off the Israeli coast, closed ports and disrupted shipping in the Suez Canal.

For the first time this year, after a very hot November, snow fell in Mount Hermon and the Golan Heights.
