Israel ex-President Katsav 'may appeal' rape conviction

Israel's former President Moshe Katsav has been found guilty of rape by a court in Tel Aviv.

He had faced two allegations of rape by an employee when he was tourism minister in the 1990s. He was also convicted of subsequent sexual offences while he was president.

The BBC's Rupert Wingfield-Hayes said Katsav is expected to appeal the judges' unanimous decision.
