Egypt army vow on emergency rule

Tens of thousands of demonstrators have gathered in Cairo's Tahrir Square after Friday Prayers, to renew their protests against the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

The Military High Command has promised to hold free elections later this year and to lift the State of Emergency, provided the demonstrations end.

The BBC's Adam Mynott reports.
