UN says Bahrain violence 'deeply troubling'

The United Nations Secretary General has called the violence in Bahrain "deeply troubling" and called for an end to violence against protesters and journalists.

Mr Ban said authorities have "an obligation to respect human rights".

He went on to say that governments in the region should listen to the people's "legitimate aspirations" and said he would be reaching out to the leaders in the region in the coming days.
