Colonel Gaddafi's rule comes to an end in eastern towns

Libyan ruler Col Muammar Gaddafi battles to control the country's west as protesters consolidate eastern towns and foreigners continue to flee.

Western journalists are banned from Libya but the BBC's Correspondent Jon Leyne has travelled to the East of the country to the scene of fierce fighting between lightly armed protestors and Gaddafi's army.
